Find a Travel Nurse Job: Tell Us What You Want, We Introduce You to a Recruiter

Fill in your specialty, the states you want, your license and when you can start. With your permission, a person at TravelNurseCalc passes that to a partner recruiter — a staffing agency that has a referral agreement with us — who covers your specialty and state, and copies you on the introduction. If no partner covers your request, we tell you so by email instead of leaving you waiting.

We are a pay calculator and data site, not a staffing agency: we do not post jobs, employ nurses or negotiate contracts. What we add is the part recruiters do not — before you sign anything, you can run the offer through our Contract Grade and stipend check and see how it compares with the state pay data on this site.

Your job request

We are not a staffing agency and do not employ or place nurses. No request is shared with anyone unless the box above is ticked.

What a recruiter will ask you, and how to answer

Specialty and unit experience

Agencies place by unit, not by title. "ICU" with CCRN and device experience reads differently from "ICU" with six months of step-down. Say which units and which equipment; our specialty negotiation guides list what each specialty's recruiters look for.

License and compact status

A compact (multistate) license lets you start in any of the compact states without a new application; a single-state license means weeks of lead time for a new state. Check your options with the compact license lookup.

Pay expectations

Give a gross weekly figure, not an hourly rate — packages are quoted as taxable wages plus tax-free stipends, and the split matters as much as the total. Our state pages show the GSA stipend ceiling for every state, and the stipend calculator tells you whether a quoted stipend is within it.

Start date and length

Most contracts are 13 weeks with extension options. "As soon as possible" with a compact license is the strongest position; a fixed date three months out is fine, just say so, because needs-based rates move week to week.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TravelNurseCalc a staffing agency?

No. TravelNurseCalc is a pay calculator and data site. We do not employ nurses, post jobs or negotiate contracts. This form lets you ask us to introduce you to a partner recruiter, meaning a staffing agency that has a referral agreement with us; the agency, not us, offers you a contract.

What exactly happens after I submit the form?

A person at TravelNurseCalc reads your request. If a partner recruiter covers your specialty and one of the states you chose, we introduce you by email and copy you on that email, so you always know who has your details. If no partner covers it yet, we email you to say so. You get a confirmation email immediately that repeats these three steps.

Who sees my details?

TravelNurseCalc, and only with the sharing box ticked, the one recruiter we introduce you to. We do not sell your details, add you to a marketing list, or pass them to more than one agency without asking you first. Reply to the confirmation email or use the contact form at any time to withdraw the request, and we delete the record if you ask.

Does TravelNurseCalc get paid if I take a job?

An agency that hires you through our introduction may pay us a referral fee. The fee is paid by the agency out of its own margin and does not change the pay package you are offered. Compare any offer with our calculator before you sign, whoever introduced you.

I am a nursing student or new grad. Can I use this?

Yes. Choose "Student / not licensed yet" or "New grad" and we will say so to the recruiter. Most agencies want at least a year of acute-care experience before a first travel contract, so expect the introduction to be about timing and what to build toward rather than an immediate assignment.
